Abstract
Background: Adolescents are not exempt from vaccine-preventable diseases. Aim: To summarize the current vaccination-related evidence and recommendations for adolescents in Latin America, Europe, and the United States based on current clinical practice guidelines. The specific objectives encompassed the formulation of complementary recommendations by the authors and a comprehensive proposal to enhance existing immunization coverage across this demographic. Methodology: A review of published material was conducted, alongside a non-systematic search of indexed scientific studies accessible on platforms such as PubMed/Medline, Cochrane Library, Google Scholar, SciELO, and Epistemonikos on adolescent immunization. Only international guidelines, original articles, systematic reviews, and peer-reviewed meta-analyses were included. The search range established was between 2000 and 2024. Conclusion: This document summarizes the findings of existing data on adolescent vaccination recommendations, equipping clinicians with scientific resources to address this population in Latin America
