Abstract

Antiretroviral therapy has significantly improved the prognosis of people living with HIV. However, its benefit will be determined by a correct usage of this treatment, so these guidelines provide orientations for a proper selection of antiretrovirals in adults and children, considering different comorbidities and physiological states such as age or pregnancy. Possible changes in the therapy due to simplifications or interactions and adjustments in cases of virological failure are indicated. These recommendations reflect the position of their authors and not necessarily of scientific societies or national health authorities.
